This recent work is about the memory and experience of being in a place. If you could hold a moment spent in nature, when every physical sense is stimulated, what would it look like when revisiting that landscape in your mind? These paintings are a translation of that very experience. They are a blending of memories with accents of texture and exaggerated color, suggesting the same captivating layers found outdoors. I've been aiming to find some sort of meeting point between the experience of being in nature and viewing my work. Just as a 15 minute hike in the woods can make you pause to appreciate the simple and complex and encourage you to look closer... it's my goal to bring that perspective to the viewer with my palette knife and brush
